A perfect winter concoction to warm you up and mellow you out.

Adapted from The Cannabis Cookbook by Tim Pilcher

Estimated Time: 1 hour and 10 minutes
Serves: Makes 2 cups

Ingredients:
1 cup/250ml milk
5 tbsp granulated sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/8oz/3.5g cannabis, finely ground
5oz/150g unsweetened chocolate

2. After it reaches a boil, turn down the heat and let it simmer for about 1 hour.
3. Filter through a cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer.
4. With the heat off, pour the milk mixture back into the pan and add chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted.

For the cannabis measurement

For the cannabis measurement 8oz is not equal to 3.5g. So is it 8oz or 3 grams of weed that is needed for this recipe?? I'd really like to make it and I don't want to waste weed.

Measurement

1/8oz (one eighth of an ounce) = 3.5 grams

It was WAAAAY rich and a bit bitter, plus it tasted like I was just drinking chocolate covered nugs. I think next time I'll use semi-sweet and way up the sugar. Also I think I'll do two cups milk not a cup milk/cup cream. However I finished a cup about 20 minutes ago on a full stomach and I'm already feeling pretty good.

To answer another posters question: I used about a tablespoon of cinnamon and you couldn't smell the green at all/it smelled VERY faintly like almost lemon. Either way our very green unfriendly room mate watched us cook it and was NONE the wiser.

Hot chocolate

I'm going to try this with a nice instant hot chocolate mix I have....

Just wonderin'

Is this guarenteed to get you high, for sure? I feel like an eigth of bud is too much to waste if I wouldnt feel the effects that much.

just wondering...

i want to try this but does the cannabis smell when you boil it? or is it masked by the other ingredients?

Note to self:

Do not use heavy cream- makes it wayyyyy too rich! Lesson learned ;) But it was still delicious... now its time to sit back relax and wait for it to work its magic <3 Thanks for the recipe!

Holy Cow Hot Chocolate is GREAT!

Even though I used two cups of milk instead of using cream and milk, it came out fantastic!

What a great way to combine my two favorite ingredients!
